Visit a store that first opened in 1928.

This month's Hour Detroit magazine features a fashion spread shot in Rachel Lutz's brand new Peacock Room — which also features brand new "vintage" female mannequins from Vaudeville Mannequins "Tamera Nouveau" and "Isadora" collections. The store itself has been in existence since the building opened in about 1928, and spent decades as Julie's Dress Shop before becoming a bank and ultimately, setting empty for years. Rachel stepped up and opened not only the second Peacock Room, but also it's gorgeous, more contemporary cousin, Yama, also in the Fisher Building.

The Fisher Building is an Art Deco jewel that is almost literally indescribable in it's beauty. Take a look.

If you're in Downtown Detroit, stop by — this store is absolutely amazing, with really "girly" dresses and accessories that you will absolutely not see anywhere else. Ask for Rachel — she is a small slice of terrific herself!
